A juicy burger with crisp, tangy white kimchi tucked right into the middle. Simple, messy and seriously delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 burger buns
- 2 burger patties
- 4–6 tbsp white kimchi, well drained
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 spring onion, finely sliced
- Salt and black pepper
- 1 tsp neutral oil, for cooking
Method
- Cook the burgers. Season the patties with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the burgers for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
- Toast the buns. Lightly toast the cut sides of the buns in the same pan until golden.
- Make the sauce. Mix the vegan mayonnaise with the sesame oil.
- Build the burger. Spread the sauce over the bottom bun. Place the hot burger patty on top, then add a generous layer of white kimchi directly on top of the burger. Finish with spring onion and the top bun.
- Serve immediately. The warm, savoury burger with the cool, crunchy, tangy kimchi makes the whole thing work.
Tip: Drain the white kimchi well before adding it so the burger doesn't become soggy.
